The Practice will respect a patient’s privacy and confidentiality at all times. Your medical records are confidential and will not be discussed with anyone else without your permission other than the health professionals within this Practice . The Practice complies with the Data Protection and Access to Records Acts.
Our staff are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the Doctors and Nurses. We ask you for information so that you can receive proper care and treatment. We keep this information, together with details of your care, because it may be needed if we see you again.
You may be receiving care from other people as well as the NHS. So that we can all work together for your benefit, we may need to share some information about you. We only ever use or pass on information if people have a genuine need for it and it is in your and everyone’s interests. Whenever we can, we shall remove details that identify you. Anyone who receives information from us is also under a legal duty to keep it confidential.
We are pleased to see young people who wish to discuss health matters either alone or accompanied.
