Patients who live more than a mile from a chemist may have their prescriptions dispensed from our Witley Surgery Dispensary, all other patients may use a pharmacy of their choice. You will be advised about this when you register.
If you are receiving long-term drug treatment you will be given a repeat prescription form which can be used to obtain repeat drugs without having to see your doctor every time. You will however, be seen at regular intervals to review your treatment.
Repeat prescription requests may be sent via the NHS App or Patient Access to the surgery. You may also hand in or post the paper forms to us; please allow 3 working days before collecting your prescription. Extra time may be required if your item is not on repeat or there is a query with your request. Please remember to allow extra time at weekends and Bank Holidays when the surgery is closed. For your convenience you may wish to ask your doctor about the Electronic Repeat Dispensing service, which removes the need to put in regular requests and instead allows you to go straight to your pharmacy.
FOR SAFETY REASONS REPEAT PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS CANNOT BE TAKEN OVER THE TELEPHONE.
The surgery now offers a free delivery service to our dispensing patients who are housebound or disabled. If your are interested in using this service please ask our Dispensers for details.
Telephone calls to the Dispensary will only be taken after 12:30.
THE DISPENSARY IS CLOSED BETWEEN 1-3pm MONDAY – FRIDAY TO ENABLE THE STAFF TO COPE WITH DEMAND DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
